2 large chicken breasts

1 cup buttermilk

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

3 tablespoons vegetable oil

8 oz fettuccine pasta

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Marinate the Chicken: In a bowl, combine buttermilk with a pinch of salt and pepper. Add the chicken breasts, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 4 hours) for tenderizing.

    Prepare the Coating: In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

      Coat the Chicken: Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, letting the excess drip off. Dredge each breast in the flour mixture until completely coated, pressing gently to adhere.

        Cook the Chicken: In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully place the chicken breasts in the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C). Remove and let them rest on paper towels to absorb excess oil.

          Prepare the Pasta: While the chicken is resting, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining the pasta.

            Make the Cream Sauce: In the same pot, lower the heat and add the heavy cream. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and a splash of reserved pasta water for desired consistency. Mix until smooth and creamy.

              Combine: Add the drained fettuccine to the cream sauce, tossing until well coated. If the sauce is too thick, add more reserved pasta water, one tablespoon at a time, until you achieve a silky texture.

                Serve: Slice the crispy chicken and arrange it on top of the creamy pasta. Garnish with chopped parsley for freshness.
