Ingredients

1 medium head of green cabbage, chopped

1 lb ground beef

1 medium onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, drained

1 cup cooked rice (white or brown)

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion becomes translucent (about 3-4 minutes).

Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned (about 6-8 minutes). Drain excess grease if necessary.

Stir in the drained diced tomatoes, cooked rice, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine all ingredients thoroughly.

In a large baking dish, layer half of the chopped cabbage on the bottom. Pour half of the beef mixture over the cabbage, then sprinkle half of the cheddar cheese on top.

Repeat the layers by adding the remaining cabbage, beef mixture, and topping with the remaining cheese.

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.

Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Let the casserole cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
