Ingredients

8 slices of white bread (or brioche for a richer flavor)

1 cup cream cheese, softened

1/3 cup brown sugar

2 tsp ground cinnamon

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

4 large eggs

1/2 cup milk

1/4 tsp nutmeg

1/4 tsp salt

1/2 cup maple syrup (for drizzling)

Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Butter (for greasing)

Instructions

Prepare the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy. Set aside.

Roll the Bread: Take each slice of bread and flatten them slightly using a rolling pin. Spread a generous amount of the cinnamon cream cheese filling on each slice, leaving about half an inch at the edges.

Roll It Up: Carefully roll up each slice of bread tightly, starting from one end to the other, like a jelly roll. Pinch the ends to seal them in.

Prepare the Egg Mixture: In another bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.

Dip the Rolls: Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a small amount of butter to coat the pan. Dip each rolled bread piece into the egg mixture, ensuring it gets fully coated.

Cook the Rolls: Place the dipped rolls in the skillet seam-side down. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.

Serve: Remove from the skillet and slice each roll into bite-sized pieces if desired. Drizzle with maple syrup and dust with powdered sugar.

Enjoy: Serve warm for a decadent breakfast or brunch treat!
