Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 medium onion, finely chopped

1 green bell pepper, diced

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

4 hero or hoagie rolls

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional toppings: sliced tomatoes, lettuce, mayonnaise, hot sauce

Instructions

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and green bell pepper, sautéing until softened (about 4-5 minutes).

Add the ground beef to the skillet. Break it up with a spatula and cook until browned, about 6-8 minutes.

Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix everything well.

Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the meat mixture. Stir until the cheese is melted and creamy, ensuring everything is well combined.

While the beef and cheese mixture is cooking, slice the hero rolls lengthwise without cutting all the way through. You want them to open like a book.

Toast the insides of the rolls in a separate dry skillet or under a broiler until golden, about 1-2 minutes.

Generously fill each toasted roll with the chopped cheese mixture, taking care to pack it well.

Add any additional toppings you prefer, such as sliced tomatoes, lettuce, or a drizzle of hot sauce.

                  Prep Time: 10 mins | Total Time: 30 mins | Servings: 4

                    - Presentation Tips: Wrap each sandwich in parchment paper for a classic deli feel, and serve with a side of potato chips or pickles for crunch. Enjoy!
