Ingredients

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 tsp baking powder

½ tsp baking soda

¼ tsp salt

1 cup granulated sugar

½ cup brown sugar, packed

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

3 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup buttermilk

1 cup fresh or frozen cherries, pitted and halved

½ cup dark chocolate chips

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two medium loaf pans or line them with parchment paper for easier removal.

In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and mix until combined.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with buttermilk. Begin and end with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined, avoiding over-mixing.

Gently fold in the cherries and dark chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared loaf pans, smoothing the tops with a spatula.

Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the loaves cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

                  Prep Time: 20 min | Total Time: 1 hr 20 min | Servings: 10

                    - Presentation Tips: Slice the loaves and serve on a decorative platter. Dust with powdered sugar and garnish with whole cherries for an extra touch. Enjoy with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delightful dessert!
