Ingredients

2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

¾ cup granulated sugar

¾ cup packed brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 large eggs

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans, optional)

½ teaspoon espresso powder (optional for a richer flavor)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and espresso powder (if using). Set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

Beat in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the cookies tender.

Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts, if using.

Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are still soft.

Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Prep Time: 15 min | Total Time: 30 min | Servings: About 24 cookies

                      - Presentation Tips: Stack the cookies on a beautiful plate and dust with a light sprinkle of sea salt for an appealing look.
