Ingredients

500g beef sirloin, thinly sliced

2 large onions, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon ginger, grated

2 bell peppers (1 red, 1 yellow), sliced

3 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional, can be substituted with extra soy sauce)

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 teaspoon sesame oil

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Salt and pepper to taste

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Cooked jasmine rice or noodles (to serve)

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil together. Set aside.

Heat the Wok: Heat a large wok or skillet over high heat and add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Once hot, add the marinated beef in a single layer. Stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until the beef is browned but not fully cooked. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Stir-Fry the Vegetables: In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Stir in the minced garlic, grated ginger, and sliced onions. Stir-fry for about 2 minutes until the onions start to become translucent.

Add Peppers: Toss in the sliced bell peppers and continue to stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until they are tender.

Combine Everything: Return the partially cooked beef to the pan, pour over the prepared sauce, and toss everything together. Stir-fry for an additional 2-3 minutes until the beef is fully cooked and the sauce thickens slightly.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions. Serve hot over jasmine rice or noodles.
