Ingredients

200g spaghetti or linguine

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 tablespoons chili oil

5 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

Salt to taste

Freshly ground black pepper to taste

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Grated Parmesan cheese for garnishing (optional)

Zest of 1 lemon (optional)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.

Melt Butter and Heat Oil: In a large skillet over medium heat, combine the butter and chili oil. Allow the butter to melt, stirring gently to incorporate both oils.

Sauté Garlic: Add the minced garlic to the skillet, sautéing for about 1-2 minutes or until fragrant, being careful not to let it brown.

Add Pasta: Add the drained pasta directly into the skillet with the garlic butter mixture. Toss the pasta well to coat it with the butter and oil.

Adjust Consistency: Slowly pour in some reserved pasta water (a few tablespoons at a time) to create a sauce, tossing until the pasta is well-coated and creamy. You may not need to use all the reserved water.

Season: Sprinkle in red pepper flakes, salt, and freshly ground black pepper. Adjust seasoning according to your taste.

Finish with Herbs and Zest: Fold in the chopped parsley and lemon zest (if using) for a fresh flavor.

Serve: Plate the pasta and garnish with additional parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.

                  Prep Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 20 minutes | Servings: 2-3

                    - Presentation Tips: Serve the pasta in a large bowl or on individual plates. Drizzle a little extra chili oil on top for color and garnish with lemon wedges on the side for an additional burst of flavor.
