Ingredients

12 oz linguine pasta

1 lb ground beef

1/4 cup unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

1/2 cup heavy cream

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Zest of 1 lemon (for a hint of brightness)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the linguine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.

Brown the Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef. Season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Sauté Garlic: Add the butter to the skillet with the beef. Once melted, add minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until garlic is fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

Create the Sauce: Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Mix in the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, stirring until fully melted and the sauce is creamy. If the sauce is too thick, gradually add reserved pasta water until the desired consistency is reached.

Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the drained linguine to the skillet, tossing gently to coat the pasta with the cheesy garlic sauce and meat mixture.

Finish: Stir in the lemon zest for a fresh flavor boost and adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper if necessary.

Serve: Plate the pasta and garnish with freshly chopped parsley and additional Parmesan if desired.
