Ingredients

4 small sourdough bread bowls

8 ounces spaghetti

2 tablespoons olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 can (14 ounces) crushed tomatoes

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried basil

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper, to taste

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut the tops off the bread bowls and hollow out the insides, leaving about half an inch of bread for structure. Save the insides for later use in breadcrumbs or another dish.

In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

Pour in the crushed tomatoes and add the oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Allow the sauce to simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Once the sauce has thickened, add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet and gently toss until the pasta is well coated with the sauce. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Carefully spoon the spaghetti mixture into each hollowed-out bread bowl, filling them generously.

Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top of the filled bread bowls.

Place the filled bread bowls on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until the bread is golden and crispy, and the cheese is melted.

Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh basil leaves.

                    Prep Time: 15 min | Total Time: 40 min | Servings: 4

                      - Presentation Tips: Serve each bread bowl on a plate with the top of the bread bowl alongside it, garnished with additional fresh basil and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese for an elegant touch. Enjoy your Bread Bowl Spaghetti!
