Ingredients

2 cups water

2 black tea bags (or 2 tablespoons loose black tea)

1 cup fresh blackberries

1 tablespoon fresh sage leaves

1 tablespoon honey (or to taste)

1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)

Ice cubes

Fresh sage leaves and blackberries for garnish

Instructions

Brew the Tea: In a saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Once boiling, remove from heat and add the black tea bags (or loose tea in a tea infuser). Let steep for 5-7 minutes, then remove the tea bags. Allow the tea to cool to room temperature.

Create the Blackberry Sage Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine the fresh blackberries, fresh sage leaves, and honey. Use a muddler or fork to mash the blackberries slightly to release their juices. Add 1/2 cup of water and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture becomes syrupy. Remove from heat, strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve to remove the solids, and let cool.

Combine the Ingredients: Once the brewed tea and blackberry sage syrup are both cooled, fill a glass with ice cubes. Pour in the cooled black tea until it fills the glass about 2/3 full.

Add the Milk: Slowly pour in the milk to fill the glass, leaving some space on top for the blackberry sage syrup.

Add the Flavor: Drizzle the cooled blackberry sage syrup over the top of the latte, allowing it to swirl through the tea and milk. Stir gently to combine if desired.

Garnish and Serve: Add a few fresh blackberries and sage leaves on top for garnish. Serve with a straw or a spoon.

                - Presentation Tips: Serve in tall glasses to showcase the beautiful swirl of colors. Consider using decorative straws as part of the presentation, and maybe add a small sprig of sage and a blackberry on the rim of the glass for an extra touch.
