Ingredients

1 cup stone-ground grits

4 cups chicken broth

1 cup heavy cream

1 pound large shrimp, deveined and peeled

4 slices of bacon, chopped

1/2 onion, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 bell pepper, diced (any color)

1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Salt and black pepper to taste

2 green onions, sliced for garnish

Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

Prepare the Grits: In a medium saucepan, bring the chicken broth to a boil. Slowly whisk in the stone-ground grits and reduce the heat to low. Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 20-25 minutes or until the grits are thick and creamy. Stir in the heavy cream and season with salt and pepper to taste. Keep warm.

Cook the Bacon: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the chopped bacon. Cook until crispy (about 5 minutes), then remove with a slotted spoon and set aside, leaving the bacon grease in the pan.

Sauté the Veggies: In the same skillet with the bacon grease, add olive oil if needed. Sauté the diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic for about 3-4 minutes until softened.

Add the Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the skillet, season with Cajun seasoning, paprika, and black pepper. Cook for about 3-5 minutes or until the shrimp are pink and opaque. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and lemon juice for extra flavor.

Combining: Serve the creamy grits in bowls, topped with the spicy Cajun shrimp mixture. Sprinkle the crispy bacon, chopped parsley, and sliced green onions on top for garnish.

Enjoy: Serve immediately and enjoy your Million Dollar Shrimp and Grits!
