Ingredients

500g beef steaks (sirloin or flank)

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon ground cumin

1 tablespoon ground coriander

1 tablespoon paprika

1 teaspoon turmeric

1 teaspoon cinnamon

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Salt and pepper to taste

4 large pita breads or flatbreads

1 cup tzatziki sauce

1 cup shredded lettuce

1 large tomato, sliced

1/2 cucumber, thinly sliced

1/4 red onion, thinly sliced

Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

Begin by marinating the beef: In a large bowl, combine minced garlic, ground cumin, ground coriander, paprika, turmeric, cinnamon, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix well to form a marinade.

Add the beef steaks to the marinade, ensuring they are evenly coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or up to overnight for more flavor).

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the beef from the marinade and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. For medium rare, aim for an internal temperature of 130°F (54°C).

Remove the beef from the heat and let it rest for about 5 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.

To assemble the sandwiches, warm the pita breads or flatbreads on the grill for about 30 seconds on each side.

Spread a generous layer of tzatziki sauce onto each pita.

Top with sliced beef, followed by shredded lettuce, tomato slices, cucumber slices, and red onion.

Sprinkle fresh parsley on top for garnish.

Fold the pita over the filling and wrap with parchment paper if desired, to hold everything in place.

                    Prep Time: 20 min | Total Time: 1 hr 30 min | Servings: 4

                      - Presentation Tips: Serve the sandwiches on a wooden board with extra tzatziki and pickles on the side for dipping. Garnish with lemon wedges for a fresh touch.
