Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup cooked, shredded beef (leftover roast or ground beef)

1 cup buttermilk

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and prepare a 9x13-inch baking dish by greasing it lightly with butter.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Whisk them together until well mixed.

Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese and cooked beef until evenly distributed in the dry ingredients.

In another bowl, mix the buttermilk with half of the melted butter. Pour this mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

Pour the remaining melted butter into the prepared baking dish, letting it coat the bottom evenly.

Using a spoon or a cookie scoop, drop generous dollops of the biscuit dough into the baking dish over the melted butter.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the tops are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Allow the biscuits to cool for a few minutes in the dish, then serve warm, allowing the buttery goodness to soak into each biscuit.

Prep Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 35 minutes | Servings: 12 biscuits

                    - Presentation Tips: Serve these biscuits warm on a rustic wooden board, drizzled with a little extra melted butter and garnished with fresh herbs like parsley or chives for a pop of color.
