Ingredients

1 pound ground chicken

1 cup ricotta cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

1/4 cup breadcrumbs (plus extra for coating)

1 large egg

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

2 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using). Use your hands to mix until just combined—avoid overmixing.

Form Meatballs: Scoop out portions of the mixture (about 2 tablespoons each) and roll them into balls. If desired, roll the meatballs in a little extra breadcrumbs to coat them lightly.

Place on Baking Sheet: Arrange the meatballs on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are spaced out to allow for even cooking.

Bake: Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until they are cooked through and golden brown on the outside (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 75°C).

Heat Marinara Sauce: While the meatballs are baking, heat the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat until warmed through.

Serve: Once the meatballs are done, remove them from the oven and place them in the heated marinara sauce in the saucepan. Gently stir to coat them with the sauce.

Garnish and Enjoy: Serve the meatballs over spaghetti, zoodles, or on their own. Garnish with fresh basil leaves and additional Parmesan cheese if desired. Enjoy your delicious Baked Chicken Ricotta Meatballs!
