Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2.25 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter (for the dough)
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter (for garlic butter filling)
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 Prise grated Parmesan cheese (for topping)
  • 1 Prise extra flour for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 cups of flour and salt. Add the melted butter and the yeast mixture. Stir until a dough begins to form.
  3. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, add a bit more flour.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, Italian seasoning, and black pepper until well combined.
  6. After the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it onto a floured surface. Roll it out into a rectangle about 0.5 inch thick. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the surface.
  7. Starting from one long edge, carefully roll the dough tightly to form a log. Cut into 12 equal pieces.
  8. Place the rolls in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, cut side up, ensuring they're close but not touching. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. While the rolls are rising, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  10. Once risen, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top of the rolls. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  11. Let the rolls cool for a few minutes, then brush with any remaining garlic butter. Serve warm for the best flavor experience!
