- 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
- 0.5 tsp baking soda
- 0.25 tsp salt
- 1 cups chocolate chunks
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt 0.5 cups of butter. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, followed by the eggs, and vanilla.
- Mix in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips. Do not overmix.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together 0.5 cups softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chunks.
- Scoop dollops of the cookie dough over the brownie layer in the baking pan. Use a spatula or the back of a spoon to gently spread and cover the brownie batter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the browkies to cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares and enjoy warm or at room temperature.
