Tender Beef Tips & Rich Gravy: A Comforting Delight
Ingredients
- 2 pounds beef stew meat, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup mushroom soup (cream of mushroom)
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 Prise Salt (optional)
- 1 Prise pepper (optional)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 2 tablespoons water (optional, for thickening)
- 1 Prise Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Sear the Beef: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Season the beef stew meat with salt and pepper, then add to the skillet. Sear the beef on all sides until browned (about 3-4 minutes per side). This step adds flavor!
- Prepare the Crock Pot: Transfer the seared beef to your crock pot. Add the diced onion, minced garlic, beef broth, mushroom soup, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, dried thyme, and paprika. Stir everything together.
- Cook Low and Slow: Cover and cook on low for 360 minutes or on high for 240 minutes, until the beef is tender and the flavors have melded together.
- Thicken the Gravy (optional): If you prefer a thicker gravy, mix the cornstarch with water to create a slurry in a small bowl. About 30 minutes before serving, stir the slurry into the crock pot and let it cook on high for a thickening effect.
- Serve: Once cooked, taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve the beef tips and gravy over cooked rice, mashed potatoes, or egg noodles for a hearty meal. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
💡 Chef's Notes
Optional thickening can be adjusted based on preference.
