Ingredients

  • 2 cups large shell pasta
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 15 oz diced tomatoes with herbs
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 Prise Salt
  • 1 Prise Pepper
  • 2 cups fresh spinach
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the shell pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until softened. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  3. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until browned and cooked through (about 6-8 minutes). Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Stir in the diced tomatoes (with their juice), tomato paste, oregano, smoked paprika, and red pepper flakes (if using). Bring the mixture to a simmer, reducing heat to medium-low. Let it cook for about 5 minutes to combine the flavors.
  5. Add the fresh spinach to the beef-tomato mixture and let it wilt for about 2 minutes. Gently fold in the cooked shell pasta until evenly coated with the sauce.
  6. Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the pasta and stir until just melted and evenly mixed.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve hot, garnished with extra cheese or fresh herbs if desired.
