Ingredients

  • 2 tsp culinary grade matcha powder
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 0.25 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 Prise sea salt
  • 1 Prise cocoa powder or matcha powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, sift the matcha powder using a fine sieve to remove any lumps. Add hot water and whisk until it becomes a bright green, frothy liquid.
  2. Stir in honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of sea salt into the matcha mixture until fully dissolved.
  3. Heat the milk over medium heat until steaming. Use a frother or whisk to create a thick froth.
  4. Pour the matcha mixture into a large mug, then slowly pour the frothed milk on top, holding back the foam with a spoon.
  5. Dust the top of your matcha cappuccino with cocoa powder or an extra sprinkle of matcha.
