Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips (milk or semi-sweet)
  • 0.5 cup chocolate frosting (for topping, optional)
  • 1 Prise sprinkles or crushed nuts (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips, making sure they are evenly distributed throughout the cookie dough.
  6. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft. They will continue to firm up as they cool.
  8. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Optional: Once cooled, drizzle or spread a small amount of chocolate frosting on each cookie and top with sprinkles or crushed nuts for extra flair.

💡 Chef's Notes

Arrange the cookies on a colorful platter and drizzle additional melted chocolate over them for an eye-catching finish!
