Ingredients
- 225 g penne pasta
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 340 g Italian sausage
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 410 g diced tomatoes, drained
- 240 ml heavy cream
- 100 g shredded mozzarella cheese
- 50 g grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 Prise Salt (optional)
- 1 Prise Pepper (optional)
- 1 bunch Fresh basil leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Begin by cooking the penne pasta according to package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the Italian sausage and cook until browned, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the diced onion and garlic to the skillet, cooking until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the diced red bell pepper and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.
- Pour in the drained diced tomatoes and heavy cream, stirring to combine. Let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes.
- Reduce the heat to low and stir in the shredded mozzarella cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning. Mix until the cheeses melt and the sauce becomes creamy.
- Add the cooked penne pasta to the skillet, tossing well to coat the pasta in the cheesy sausage sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Cook for another 2-3 minutes to warm everything through, then remove from heat.
