Ingredients

  • 225 g penne pasta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 340 g Italian sausage
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 410 g diced tomatoes, drained
  • 240 ml heavy cream
  • 100 g shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 50 g grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 Prise Salt (optional)
  • 1 Prise Pepper (optional)
  • 1 bunch Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Begin by cooking the penne pasta according to package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the Italian sausage and cook until browned, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the diced onion and garlic to the skillet, cooking until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Stir in the diced red bell pepper and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.
  5. Pour in the drained diced tomatoes and heavy cream, stirring to combine. Let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the shredded mozzarella cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning. Mix until the cheeses melt and the sauce becomes creamy.
  7. Add the cooked penne pasta to the skillet, tossing well to coat the pasta in the cheesy sausage sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Cook for another 2-3 minutes to warm everything through, then remove from heat.
