Ingredients

  • 8 pieces Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (for cooking)
  • 1 Prise Fresh pineapple slices (for serving)
  • 1 Prise Maple syrup (for serving)
  • 1 Prise Powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • 1 Prise toasted coconut flakes (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and brown sugar until well combined. Set aside.
  2. Carefully slice each Hawaiian roll in half without separating the tops from the bottoms, creating a sort of pocket for the egg mixture.
  3. Dip each of the sliced Hawaiian rolls into the egg mixture, ensuring they are well-coated and absorbing some liquid. Allow excess to drip off.
  4. In a large skillet or griddle, melt one tablespoon of butter over medium heat.
  5. Place the soaked Hawaiian rolls, cut side down, in the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Add more butter as needed for the second batch.
  6. Once cooked, remove the rolls from the skillet and arrange them on a serving platter. Top with fresh pineapple slices, drizzle with maple syrup, dust with powdered sugar, and sprinkle with toasted coconut flakes for extra flair if desired.
  7. Serve your Hawaiian Roll French Toast warm and enjoy the sweet, tropical flavors!
