Hawaiian Roll French Toast Delight: A Tropical Breakfast Treat
Ingredients
- 8 pieces Hawaiian sweet rolls
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter (for cooking)
- 1 Prise Fresh pineapple slices (for serving)
- 1 Prise Maple syrup (for serving)
- 1 Prise Powdered sugar (for dusting)
- 1 Prise toasted coconut flakes (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and brown sugar until well combined. Set aside.
- Carefully slice each Hawaiian roll in half without separating the tops from the bottoms, creating a sort of pocket for the egg mixture.
- Dip each of the sliced Hawaiian rolls into the egg mixture, ensuring they are well-coated and absorbing some liquid. Allow excess to drip off.
- In a large skillet or griddle, melt one tablespoon of butter over medium heat.
- Place the soaked Hawaiian rolls, cut side down, in the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Add more butter as needed for the second batch.
- Once cooked, remove the rolls from the skillet and arrange them on a serving platter. Top with fresh pineapple slices, drizzle with maple syrup, dust with powdered sugar, and sprinkle with toasted coconut flakes for extra flair if desired.
- Serve your Hawaiian Roll French Toast warm and enjoy the sweet, tropical flavors!
