German Hamburgers Authentic German Frikadellen Recipe
Ingredients
- 500 g ground beef
- 250 g ground pork
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 stale bread roll soaked in water and squeezed dry
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 Prise salt to taste
- 1 Prise pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (for frying)
- 1 Prise fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef and ground pork.
- Add the finely chopped onion, minced garlic, soaked bread roll, egg, Dijon mustard, dried thyme, and paprika into the meat mixture.
- Season with salt and pepper, and mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Shape the mixture into patties, about 2-3 inches in diameter and 1 inch thick.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Fry the patties in batches for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels to remove any excess oil.
- Serve warm, garnished with chopped parsley if desired.
