Ingredients

  • 4 pieces cod fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 piece lemon (zested and juiced)
  • 1 Prise Salt
  • 1 Prise Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • 1 pieces lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Rinse the cod fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika, if using. Set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant. Be careful not to let the garlic burn.
  3. Stir in the lemon zest and juice into the garlic butter mixture. Cook for another minute to combine the flavors.
  4. Carefully place the seasoned cod fillets into the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, until golden brown and cooked halfway through. Gently flip the fillets and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, spooning the garlic butter over the fish occasionally.
  5. Once cooked through (internal temperature should be 145°F), sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over the cod.
  6. Plate the cod fillets, drizzling more garlic butter sauce over them. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.

💡 Chef's Notes
