Exquisite Thai Tea Infusion Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons Thai tea leaves
- 2 cups water
- 0.25 cups sugar (adjust to taste)
- 0.5 cups sweetened condensed milk
- 0.25 cups evaporated milk
- 1 Prise Ice cubes (optional for iced version)
- 1 Prise Star anise (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat and add the Thai tea leaves to the water. Stir briefly to ensure even soaking. Cover and let steep for about 5-10 minutes, depending on your desired strength.
- After steeping, strain the tea leaves through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a heatproof pitcher to remove all solids.
- While the tea is still warm, stir in the sugar until completely dissolved. Adjust sweetness according to your taste.
- Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then stir in the sweetened condensed milk and evaporated milk. Mix well until smooth and fully combined.
- For a hot beverage, pour into cups and serve warm. For iced Thai tea, fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the cooled tea over the ice.
- Optional: Add a star anise for an aromatic touch and extra flair.
