Delicious Banana Upside Down Cake Easy Baking Recipe
Ingredients
- 3 pieces ripe bananas, sliced
- 0.25 cups brown sugar
- 0.25 cups unsalted butter
- 1 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 0.5 tsp baking soda
- 0.25 tsp salt
- 0.5 cups granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
- 0.5 cups buttermilk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan with butter.
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, stir in the brown sugar until dissolved. Pour this mixture into the bottom of the prepared cake pan.
- Arrange the banana slices evenly over the brown sugar mixture in the pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir until evenly mixed.
- In another mixing bowl, cream together the granulated sugar and egg until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
- Alternately add the flour mixture and buttermilk to the sugar and egg mixture, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined; do not overmix.
- Carefully pour the batter over the arranged bananas in the cake pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then run a knife around the edges and invert onto a serving plate. Let it cool for an additional 10 minutes before serving.
