Cinnamon Roll Apple Pie Irresistible Dessert Delight
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 0.5 cups unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cups granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 6 medium apples, peeled, cored, and sliced (preferably Granny Smith)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 cups brown sugar, packed
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- 10 oz cinnamon rolls with icing (store-bought)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9-inch pie dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until a dough is formed.
- Press the dough into the bottom and up the sides of the greased pie dish, creating a pie crust. Bake for 15 minutes, then remove from the oven and set aside.
- In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, cinnamon, brown sugar, and nutmeg until well coated.
- Spread the apple filling evenly over the pre-baked pie crust.
- Open the tube of cinnamon rolls, and without separating them, slice each roll into quarters. Sprinkle the quartered pieces over the apple filling.
- Bake the pie in the preheated oven for an additional 30-35 minutes, or until the cinnamon rolls are golden brown, and the apples are tender.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Drizzle the provided icing over the warm pie before serving.
