Chipotle Steak Fiesta: A Flavorful Culinary Adventure
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs flank steak
- 2 tablespoons chipotle powder
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 lime juiced
- 0.25 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 avocado sliced
- 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 serving corn tortillas, for serving
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together the chipotle powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper to create the spice rub.
- Pat the flank steak dry with paper towels and rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the steak.
- Drizzle olive oil in a large skillet or grill pan and heat over medium-high heat.
- Once hot, add the steak to the skillet and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your desired doneness.
- Remove the steak from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Drizzle lime juice over the steak for added flavor.
- While the steak is resting, warm the corn tortillas in a separate skillet for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.
- Slice the steak against the grain into thin strips.
- To assemble, place a few slices of steak onto a warmed tortilla, and top with avocado slices, red onion, and chopped cilantro.
- Serve immediately, allowing everyone to prepare their own taco with the flavorful toppings.
💡 Chef's Notes
Let the steak rest before slicing for better flavor.
