Ingredients

  • 4 slices thick-cut sourdough bread
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
  • 0.5 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 Prise salt
  • 1 Prise pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with the minced garlic, dried Italian herbs, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
  3. Spread a generous layer of the garlic butter mixture on one side of each slice of sourdough bread. Place the slices, buttered side up, on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Evenly distribute the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese over the buttered sides of the bread. Top with the crumbled bacon, spreading it out evenly.
  5. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  6. Remove the cheesy bacon garlic toast from the oven and let it cool for a couple of minutes. Sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley for a burst of color and added flavor. Cut into halves or quarters and serve warm.
