Banana Walnut Cream Cake Delicious and Simple Recipe
Ingredients
- 3 pieces ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 0.5 cup sour cream
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 0.5 cup powdered sugar
- 0.5 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the mashed bananas and mix until fully combined. Then incorporate the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Gradually add this dry mixture to the banana mixture, alternating with the sour cream, and mix until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped walnuts gently, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- While the cake cools, prepare the cream cheese frosting by beating together the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Once the cake is completely cool, spread the cream cheese frosting generously over the top of the cake. You can also spread some between layers if you decide to split the cake into two layers.
💡 Chef's Notes
For an extra touch, sprinkle additional chopped walnuts on top of the frosting.
