Baked Apple Chips Crunchy and Delicious Snack Treat
Ingredients
- 2 large apples (Honeycrisp or Fuji)
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp coconut sugar
- 1 Prise salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 225°F (107°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Wash and dry the apples thoroughly. Using a mandoline slicer or a sharp knife, slice the apples into thin, even rounds (about 0.125 inch thick). If desired, you can remove the seeds and core, but it’s not necessary.
- In a small bowl, combine the cinnamon, coconut sugar, and salt.
- Arrange the apple slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheets, making sure not to overlap them.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the apple slices, ensuring that each slice has enough flavor.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes, then flip each apple slice over and continue baking for another 60 to 90 minutes, or until the chips are dry and crispy. Keep a close eye on them towards the end to prevent burning.
- Once the apple chips are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool completely on the baking sheets. This will help them crisp up even more.
💡 Chef's Notes
Serve in a decorative bowl, and consider adding a small dish of almond or peanut butter for dipping on the side.
